Current modeling techniques and models for environmental monitoring of the troposphere are insufficient for producing the data necessary to understand the exchanges that take place in this area. Current measurement density is poorest at this level of the atmosphere. Advancements are needed in measurement systems, monitoring techniques, and sampling techniques for the lower troposphere. Interest also exists in looking at dynamic feedback models to enhance sampling techniques. Analysis of the data gathered is also needed.
